Mepal Activity Centre –
Skills Weekend
On
Saturday 12th – Sunday 13th April and Saturday 26th – Sunday 27th April.
Includes; Sailing, Kayaking,
Climbing, Shooting, Fencing and Archery.
Mepal Activity Competition
- Saturday 10th - Sunday 11th May
This
is a county scout competition for teams of 4 scouts, who compete in up to 12
activities during the weekend. The cost is £25 per person. Details to follow.
Sailing Days -
Little Paxton, Sailing Club - ? June or July.
3
hours of sailing. Details to follow. Cost will be
approx £15.00 - again, this will be confirmed when we know numbers.
White Water Canoeing - Saturday ? June - 10am - 4pm - Cardington,
This
is a fun day out, open to all young people - it is very safe and those who have
never canoed before can take part. The
cost for the day will be £5 + transport.
We will take picnic lunches.
Sky High 2008 - Fri 11th
July - Sun 13th July, Luffenham
This
weekend camp is a national scout event that builds on the work we have been
doing towards the Basic Aviation Skills badge.
The cost of the is £25.00 + food and transport and the Scout will get at
least one parascending flight, and access to other activities eg. Go-karting,
land-yachting, kite buggies, model planes.
I
have also spoken to the PR of the Nene Valley Gliding
Club at Upwood near Ramsey,
about a Gliding package for you Explorer’s to experience the thrills of being
up in the air. Also I have emailed a Microlight Club
in Gault, Sutton in Ely.
